Talking to a Realtor

Some tips on apartment hunting from a Japanese realtor.

Note that accommodation is now a little easier to get as the economy is in recession, leading to over capacity, but the basic points still very much apply.)
RY went to Daio Realty, on Nishi-Dori, behind the Grand Hotel, and spoke with Mr. Tominaga, who is head of development section, and Mr. Baba from sales. They had some interesting advice for foreigners.
Before you can look for a specific room, you need to shop for a realtor. This could be the toughest part of your apartment hunting, since there appears to be just over a billion realtors in the area. But chin up! You can find the names of realtors through information magazines, rental apartment magazines, or just get a reference from a friend. Mr. Baba says,
