Hydrofoil from Fukuoka to Pusan (Korea) Know as "Beetle" in English and :Umitobukabutomushi" in Japanese. Twice daily Hydrofoil service operated by JR Kyushu departing from the International Ferry Terminal. Journey time is approximately three hours at speeds of up to 80km/hour.

The Beetle is fast and efficient, but just a little boring. For local colour, see the entry for the overnight ferry which takes longer but is cheaper.
Hakata International Passanger Ferry Terminal, not far from Bayside Place. Taxi is best if you have bags, (about 10 minutes to either Hakata Station or Tenjin). It is possible to walk from Gofuku-machi subway station, but we do not advise it, or take a bus from Tenjin or Hakata.
