Near Fukuoka University (Qjmp: 19033)
A mystical place, known to only a chosen few.
Ok - we are kidding - Fukuoka University ("Fukudai") employs numerous expats and Fukuoka University Hospital is a major teaching hospital. But ask even a Japanese resident what the surrounding area is called and you will often be met with a shrug, a grin and the response "Near Fukudai".
Part of the problem is transport - getting to the University is a trek along narrow congested roads by car or bus that seems to take forever. So apart from the University, there is not a lot to take people there unless they are sick, or visiting someone who is sick.
So if you, dear reader, can lighten our ignorance of what we are sure is a wonderful and misconstrued part of this fair city, do let us know. There must be SOMEWHERE decent to eat there... (???)
