Ohori/Tojin (Qjmp: 19008)
Residential area and famous park.
Ohori Area
Ohori park is a compact park that was once part of the the Fukuoka castle moat. See the sidebar for more details.
Residential
All that greenery and space of Ohori and Maizuru parks makes Ohori a sought after place to live and rents are usually fairly high. That said, it is a favourite area of the local expat community as it is just a few minutes subway ride (or 10 minutes on a bicycle) to Tenjin.
Tojin
Moving further west brings us to Tojin machi, with its covered market whihc has a slightly olde world charm.
It is mainly residential.
There is parking in the park, but it closes at 10pm.
Ohori and Tojin both have subway stations. By car they are on "Showa dori". They are both withing 10 mintes on a bicycle of Tenjin.
