Takamiya is an upmarket dormitory area in the south of the city on the Nishitetsu line between Hirao and Ohashi. It has a number of shops and restaurants clustered around the station, including a large Bon Repas supermarket and bakery. Amicas (a Women's Centre) is also here. It has a pleasantly villagey feel and is generally considered a desirable place to live.
Takamiya is about 10 minutes from Tenjin by train.
