"Tenjin Proper" stretches roughly from the Solaria Hotel down to the Acros building. It is a major shopping area with numerous department stores including Iwataya, Daimaru, Matsutya Ladies and Mitsukoshi. It is home to Tenjin Bus station, Tenjin Nishitetsu train station and has a vast array of bus stops to take you almost anywhere in the city. Although not a residential area there are a fair few apartments and a range of hotels.
"Tenjin Proper" tends to get a little sleepy around midnight and lacks the night-time dynamism of the other central localities.
