Exhibition of Electricity at Work

Mildly diverting range of exhibitions showing electricity at work.
Exhibitions include a small but functional hydroelectric dam, the cross section of a nuclear reactor core which is still impressive and various other exhibitions. There is a fair amount of machinery in the grounds of the centre. (Some of the smaller exibitions were clearly state of the art when built but are now cheerfully quaint.)
Upstairs is a spacious play/activity/learning area with lots of things to do for kids - an excellent place to take the little horrors and get them off your back for an hour or three...
Air conditioned in summer, heated in winter and free.... English language brochure on request (ask at the desk).
Not far from Yakuin Station, on Josui dori. Directions: Come out of station and walk up Jonan-sen, staying on the left side of the road. After about 100 metres You will come to a Fukuoka Bank branch on the corner of a crossroads. Cross the road and keep going, turning left off it just before the Nishi Nihon Bank . The Energy Science Center is about 100 metres ahead..
