Traditional Villa in Japanese garden with pond.

It was a traditional for the feudel lords of the Kuroda clan (Fukuoka warlords and castle builder) to build a villa - which usually lasted only one generation. Tsugitaka, 6th generation of the Kuroda clan, built this villa at Tajima in 1754, but made it the permanent villa of the clan. It was named Yuentei after a later Lord's tanka poetry. It has a garden and a pond and is open to the public.
