He called this trattoria MY CELLAR, a play on words using his own name. He presents his dishes classified by area (Sicily, Napoli etc.) rather than classifying them as appetizers, pasta, etc. "Italian food is actually many kinds of cuisines," he says."I felt strongly when I stayed in Italy that the meal itself is completely different depending on the natural features and history of the region. I hope to give my customers a virtual tour of Italian regions through the cuisine." It is still not easy to find a good prostitute ham at a reasonable price in a restaurant in Fukuoka, but here it is. If you order the mixed cured ham(1500yen), the staff immediately slices some from a huge leg of ham in the open kitchen.
With stewed calf entrails ala Firenze (850 yen), Pizza Margarita (1500 yen) and so on, you can experience the real taste of Italy, as his many Italian customers will attest.
Also, you can walk in and choose your favourite wine in his cellar of over 200 kind (all Italian) waiting to be opened! A glass of wine costs only 400 yen. Lunch is 850 yen
Cross Watanabe- dori from Hotel New Otani and follow Jonan-sen towards Yakuin Station. Walk 1 minute and you will see a Juhachi (18) Bank on the right side with a blue sign, pass 1 street you will see a tiny sign for CANTINA GASHIYO on the second floor of the a building on your right From the Nishitetsu Bus Stop: 20 seconds from Watanabedori 1-chome on foot. Nishitetsu Omuta Line: 4 minutes from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station on foot.
