Small elegant cafe bar suitable for lunch or dinner.

SYM for simple, SYM for symbiotic, or SYM for symmetry, - this tiny cafe/bar is all these. Its white walls, brushed steel counter, 4 tiny tables and a few carefully selected but striking decorations give it an elegantly minimalist, slightly Italian feel that is bright, comfortable and relaxing and focuses attention on the food.
We particularly recommend the Soup-set lunch, a delicious sour cream soup with bread, salad and coffee all for 700yen. The soup is excellent (vegetarians be warned, it contains a little meat) and is complemented by a scrumptious SYM specialty, an Italian style "foccacio" bread baked fresh each day by Takanori Fujii, the youthful and extremely welcoming "master". Helpings are generous for the price and extra bread is always available. Recommended and satisfying. There are various other lunch options including curry, all under 1000yen. Dessert is 400yen extra.
There is a wider menu in the evening, with a varied "today's menu". Most dishes are in the 600 to 850yen range. Cocktails are 700 - 900yen, beer 500yen for a medium size glass. There is no table-charge and last orders are 11:30pm. SYM is small and has an intimate "just for you" atmosphere that make it a pleasure to return to.
Evenings have a warm and relaxing atmosphere making it ideal for a tete-a-tete. Decent Italian wine is around 2000yen/bottle.
