Conference Venue  (Qjmp: 21007)

Why Fukuoka?

... because it gives you all the advantages of Japan with few of the disadvantages....

In other words, it's clean, compact, efficient, less expensive than other parts of the country and considerably less frantic, but still has a great transport infrastructure making it easy to get to - and excellent facilities for conferences, both large and small. Fukuoka regularly comes in the top three of "Asiaweek's" quality of life index, coming first in 1997 and 1999. Unlike other major cities Fukuoka is within very easy reach of the countryside - clean beaches, mountain walks and hot springs.

Fukuoka has four large existing facilities at ACROS, Fukuoka Kokusai Center Fukuoka Sun Palace and Marine Messe Fukuoka - plus numerous other halls and convention capable hotels. The "Convention Zone" is being further developed with an "International Congress Center" due for completion by April 2003.

The region is famous for its food - particularly its "yatai", or street stalls, and its nightlife. There are lots of interesting places within easy reach: we have links to some of them on this site.
